Seth Cramer, Phoenix Bat Co. Co-owner was a guest speaker at the monthly coaches clinic (January 13) and spoke on sizing players for using a wood bat. The coaches from all levels heard about wood quality, weight of a bat and how wood enhances one's hitting.

JOSHUA SHAPIRO, Fr. at Marshall University returned to Huntington Park last weekend and talked to several of
the players in this year's Clipper Academy about his fall ball experience and how they need to prepare for the upcoming season. About 30 guys listened to his comments and suggestions.
Akisa Fukuzawa is working on her game by training with Coaches Greg Thomas and Rob Gravatt at Huntington Park. Akisa is working out in preparation for her participation at the Boston Red Sox camp in Ft. Myers, Fl. this coming January.
The training is directed to her hitting, pitching and fielding skills. It's a 1-month training course that began early December.
Good Luck Akisa with the training. You no doubt will be prepared next month when you report down South.

Ed Santa, Midwest Scouting Director for the Colorado Rockies, just spoke with a "select" group of high school players at The Academy about what they need to do to enhance their overall performance and game...This took place in a closed-door meeting in the clubhouse at Huntington Park. 15 players participated in the discussion and meeting.
Ed was great according to the guys and he gave them another side of what it takes for them to take their game to a Higher Level!
Coach Mike Deegan of Denison University met with and talked to a group of "promising" high school players at Huntington Park about mental toughness and developing a strategy and game plan to make players more proficient.
The players were very appreciative and excited to listen to Coach Deegan and hear his many thoughts that will hopefully be employed to some degree this spring.
